ok, for the half-season awards.
MVP Award --- Aaron Rodgers
You cannot argue the fact he is the highest scorer in our league including defenses. He hasn't had the bye week yet, but he is producing.
Rookie of the Year --- Matt Forte/Chris Johnson/Steve Slaton
These guys have been fantasy impact players from day one.
Comeback Player of the Year --- Kurt Warner/Kyle Orton
These two guys rank 6-7 in overall scoring and neither was drafted or even thought of prior to the draft
Biggest Bust Award --- Peyton Manning/Ladanian Tomlinson/Braylon Edwards
These guys were picked in the first/second round of every draft. Peyton ranks 12th among QB's behind Orton, Warner, barely ahead of Pennington. LT ranks 12th among RB's behind Forte/C. Johnson (rookies) . Edwards ranks 21st in WR's. Playing poorly for these high draft picks who haven't missed games due to injuries are worse than drafting players you lose for the year. At least that way, you can start someone else? Brady went down, but I can play someone else instead, you have to start these guys knowing they are playing bad because they have potential to be great. By the way, Dusty has two of the three busts!
Coach/Manager/Owner of the Year --- Danny Jones (Rinnie)
Despite missing the draft, having Darren draft Maroney, Fred Taylor, our leagues first kicker, and Terry Glenn who was out of the league, Danny is tied for first place. Danny also is the lowest combined scorer in our league, all other teams have outscored him as a whole. Still he remains tied at the top at the half-way point. So obviously, he is starting the right guys at the right time and playing the right teams at the right time.
1st Coach to be fired --- Dusty Ledbetter (Fentress)
Out of all the teams in the bottom half of the standings, Dusty is the only one who drafted in the top half of the draft. Having the #1 pick should insure a .500 season if you don't get the injury bug, His 1-3-5-6-9 picks have been sub-par at best. His jewels came in the 7th and 11th round when he picked Jennings and Rodgers. Maybe the second half of the season will turn it around.
